Program Note

Written for pianist Halida Dinova in fulfillment of the Ohio Music Teachers Association ‘Composer of the Year’ Commission for 2007,  Corpo Sonoro consists of four pieces each based on a poem by the Brazilian poet Maria Davico from her volume of the same title. The poems are in Portugese — a language of beautiful sounds, and are translated into English by Joseph Sekon.
