This quintet is comprised of three movements, the first of which was published previously as “All the Fools in Town.” The second movement begins in full alarm mode — at a gallop — while the last movement is deeply reflective.

Program Note The title of this piece comes from Mark Twain’s book Huckleberry Finn— “Hain’t we got all the fools in town on our side, and ain’t that a big enough majority in any town?”

So Alone
